CASIO SK-5 DRUM SAMPLE PACK AND ABLETON DRUM RACK
In 2004, my younger brother gave me a beautiful circuit-bent Casio SK-5 keyboard - a member of the classic SK series of sampling keyboards that Casio released in the 80's. This synth is still prized for its low-fi color. I first used it on a record in 2018 when I sound designed the snare and kick sounds for Leifer's 'Livia' from it. I'm releasing a free Ableton Live 11 Drum Rack and Sample Pack of one shot drum sounds (for those of you who don't have Ableton Live 11) that I designed from my Casio SK-5. All sounds were warmed up, EQ'd and Compressed through my Neve Shelford Channel for some nice analog grit and punch. To read a bit more about the Casio SK series go here.
Here are 5 examples of beats made from this sample pack by NYC DJ/Hip Hop producer GROMO with bass lines and chords that I recorded here in the Ark Studio:
The bass lines and chords that I recorded on these 5 loops and Ableton 11 session are available for sale here: danfreeman.gumroad.com/l/tyori
